San Diego Escorts: ACORN’s Illegal Alien Home Loan Racket

ACORN’s Illegal Alien Home Loan Racket
On Wednesday, O’Keefe and Giles
published the
fifth in a series of
BigGovernment.com
sting videos. ACORN official Juan Carlos Vera
coached the pimp-and-prostitute-posing pair on how best
to pull off a
border-busting smuggling operation. It would be
“better from
Tijuana,” he counseled on videotape. Vera then generously offered the
investigative couple his Mexican
“contacts” to
bring 12 illegal alien girls into the country for
prostitution.
GOP California Gov.
Arnold Schwarzenegger now wants an investigation.
But neither the Terminator nor any other California
public official raised a peep when the very same San
Diego ACORN office publicly announced a partnership with
Citibank to secure home loans for illegal aliens.
In 2005, Citibank and ACORN Housing
Corporation—which received tens of millions of tax
dollars under the Bush administration alone—began
recruiting Mexican illegal aliens for a lucrative
program offering loans with below-market interest rates,
down-payment assistance and no mortgage insurance
requirements. Instead of the Social Security numbers
required of law-abiding citizens, the program allows
illegal alien applicants to supply loosely monitored tax
identification numbers issued by the IRS.

San Diego Escorts: REGION: ACORN takes another fall

September 18, 2009 at 3:00 am | In San Diego escorts | No Comments

On a hidden-camera video released this week, two ACORN employees are seen apparently advising a couple who were posing as a prostitute and her pimp to lie about her profession and launder her earnings. The video was the latest in a series that already has led to the firing of four employees in Baltimore and Washington. The video was shot by James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles and posted on BigGovernment.com, where O’Keefe identifies himself as an activist filmmaker.
Local officials attacked ACORN Thursday, with San Diego County Supervisor Bill Horn and Tony Krvaric, chairman of the San Diego County Republican Party, demanding an audit of more than 26,000 voter registration cards they say the group submitted in 2008.

Horn issued a written statement Thursday decrying the actions seen in a another secretly taped video broadcast by FOX News on Wednesday. On that tape, a San Diego ACORN worker says he could help a couple posing as a pimp and prostitute set up a brothel featuring underage girls in Tijuana.

San Diego Adult Entertainment: Citizens task force will study regulation of medical marijuana …

… We need strict guidelines. They do protect patients. We do need law enforcement,” said Wendy Christakes, who uses medical marijuana to ease pain from a spinal injury.
Claudine Scott with the East Village Association told the council that the city must strengthen its permitting process and give residents a say when applicants want to open shop in their communities.
“They should go before the community to explain why they are needed in the neighborhood,” Scott said.
San Diego, like many cities, lacks land use guidelines governing where pot collectives or cooperatives may be located. Nothing in the city’s regulations prevent them from opening next to schools, playgrounds or churches.
Unlike liquor stores and adult businesses, dispensaries are not required to go through the police department to obtain permits before opening. They only need to apply for a business tax certificate from the City Treasurer’s Office and a zoning use certificate from the Development Services Department.

San Diego Adult Entertainment: ACORN Worker Fired After Appearance In Undercover Video, 10News.com

September 17, 2009 at 9:13 pm | In San Diego adult entertainment | No Comments

SAN DIEGO — A San Diego ACORN employee who appeared to give human-smuggling advice to a pimp and prostitute in an undercover video made by conservative filmmakers has been fired, 10News’ Juliette Vara reported.
ACORN’s David Lagstein issued the following statement regarding Vera:
After release of the second San Diego video by the unscrupulous partisan videographers, we have reevaluated our assessment of the incident that occurred last month. No paperwork was filed, but the video reflects unacceptable conduct that contradicts the earlier statements of ACORN Organizer Juan Carlos Vera. He has been terminated. San Diego ACORN and ACORN offices around the country are continuing to halt our service programs pending the results of the evaluation of the independent Advisory Council and we are continuing to fight on our campaigns: stopping foreclosures, affordable, accessible health care, and a strong education for all children.

In the footage filmed in July, filmmaker James O’Keefe and his partner, Hannah Giles, posed as a pimp and prostitute, and asked Vera for housing help.

Vera said he was told the woman needed to escape her controlling pimp, who wouldn’t let her start a new life.

San Diego Escorts: ACORN videos from National City, San Bernardino cause stir

September 17, 2009 at 7:49 pm | In San Diego escorts | No Comments

Meanwhile, the debate about another video purporting to show an ACORN worker in San Bernardino offering advice on how to set up prostitution businesses intensified today.
Conservative activists James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles pose as a pimp and a prostitute, respectively, in a hidden-camera video released Tuesday that depicts a woman who O’Keefe says is an ACORN worker in San Bernardino saying she could show them “how not to get caught.” On the video, which is edited, she also discusses killing her ex-husband and says she “laid some groundwork” beforehand by going to domestic violence shelters and saying she was abused.
But Christina Spach, the office supervisor at the ACORN office in San Bernardino, told the San Bernardino Sun that the woman on the tape knew the pair were joking but went along with it in part because she was alone in the office and was concerned for her safety. “Just to be clear, ACORN in not in the prostitution business,” S …

On Monday the Senate voted 83-7 to deny housing and community grant funding to ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.
Republicans accelerated their attacks on the liberal-leaning group a year ago when ACORN, in conducting a massive voter registration drive, was accused of submitting some false registration forms.
On a hidden-camera video released on Monday, two ACORN employees are seen apparently advising a couple that was posing as a prostitute and her pimp to lie about her profession and launder her earnings. The video was the latest in a series that has already led to the firing of four ACORN employees in Baltimore and Washington. NATIONAL CITY, Calif. – The anti-poverty organization, ACORN, was under fire again Wednesday, and this time the scandal hit close to home.
