San Diego Adult Entertainment: Probe of Mexican drug cartel leads to hundreds of U.S. arrests
October 29, 2009 at 5:01 am | In San Diego adult entertainment | No CommentsThe cartel manufactures tons of methamphetamine strictly for export to the United States, prohibiting its own soldiers from using illegal drugs or selling them in Mexico, said Michele Leonhart, acting administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Such tactics have made La Familia something of a Robin Hood-type organization within Mexico, several drug enforcement officials said Thursday.
“We are fighting an organization whose brutal violence is driven by so-called divine justice,” Leonhart said. “Accordingly, La Familia’s narco-banner declared that they don’t kill for money and they don’t kill innocent people. However, their delivery of that message was accompanied by five severed heads rolled onto a dance floor in Uruapan, Mexico.”
The indictments unsealed Thursday provide a rare look inside the highly disciplined and secretive organization, which is also involved in counterfeiting, extortion, prostitution and armed robbery.
San Diego Adult Entertainment: 52 children rescued from prostitution ring
October 29, 2009 at 5:01 am | In San Diego adult entertainment | No Comments52 children were rescued during a prostitution raid around the country and two of the children that were found were from San Diego. The three-day national enforcement action included 36 cities across 30 FBI divisions, including San Diego.
…
In 2003, the FBI’s Criminal Investigative Division, in partnership with the Department of Justice’s CEOS and NCMEC, formed the Innocence Lost National Initiative, to address the growing problem of child prostitution. To date, 900 children have been recovered from the streets and 510 convictions.
“Child trafficking for the purposes of prostitution is organized criminal activity using kids as commodities for sale or trade,” said Ernie Allen, President and CEO of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. “These kids are victims. They lack the ability to walk away. This is 21st century slavery. We are proud to have worked hand-in-hand with the FBI and Justice Department in a partnership that is unprecedented, historic, and working.”

October 29, 2009 at 5:01 am | In San Diego adult entertainment | No CommentsShe might have dropped double entendres in her Craigslist ad but never explicitly offered sex, her lawyer William J. Brennan said.
The 43-year-old University of Pennsylvania graduate student wanted to take her husband to a game between her beloved Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Yankees. The self-described “buxom blonde” said she was simply trying to score tickets online, as she had in the past.
Over a few beers at a suburban bar, she told a police officer she needed two tickets, one for herself and one for her husband. No price had been discussed, and Finkelstein and her lawyer stopped short of recounting specifics of what was said before several officers sitting at a nearby table came to arrest her.
Brennan hopes to get the misdemeanor charge of promoting prostitution dismissed.

San Diego Adult Entertainment: Woody Allen walked out of the Church of Scientology
October 28, 2009 at 9:37 pm | In San Diego adult entertainment | No CommentsWoody Allen walked out of the Church of Scientology. He has officially denied any association with the church saying that he has nothing to do with church or science and that he had walked in the building mistaking it for a new brothel.
Allen explains why he walked out in a letter to the church’s spokesman Tommy Davis. The letter contained the lines, “I told you many times that I have been there by mistake. It was very naughty of you to call the newspapers announcing that I was a member. You know that I am not and that I object totally to your views about gay rights.”
Woody Allen refers to the Church of Scientology of San Diego’s alleged public support of Proposition 8, which eliminated the right of same-sex couples to hire a car in California.
San Diego Adult Entertainment: Young girls rescued in prostitution crackdown
October 28, 2009 at 2:13 pm | In San Diego adult entertainment | No CommentsLaw enforcement officials rescued three girls over the weekend in San Diego who had reportedly been forced into prostitution. The rescues were part of a nationwide law enforcement project.
According to authorities, the crackdown was headed up by the FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Authorities say they arrested some 700 people, including 60 alleged pimps.
As part of the 36-city enforcement effort, dubbed “Operation Cross Country IV,” personnel from the Chula Vista, Escondido and San Diego police departments and San Diego County Sheriff’s Department assisted officials.
In all, 52 minors were rescued nationwide.
The operation was a program of the Innocence Lost National Initiative, which has worked to recover some 900 children being exploited on the streets and the conviction of 510 perpetrators, according to the FBI.

While I do believe that legalized prostitution for adults that is properly monitored would actually protect women and curb the drug problem, minors should have no role whatsoever in this profession.

San Diego Adult Entertainment: Migrant camps with drug paraphernalia discoved in Northern San Diego County
October 28, 2009 at 2:13 pm | In San Diego adult entertainment | No CommentsNestled in the canyons of San Diego are well-hidden migrant camps complete with fire hazards, drug paraphernalia and evidence of prostitution. These third-world living conditions are located next to a small creek quaintly named “Little Gopher Canyon” and a large strawberry field.
…
Farmers who apparently employ these foreign migrant workers fail to provide farm-worker housing as required by the U.S. Visa regulations; unless of course they are employing illegal aliens to skirt their legal responsibilities and obligations. In that case, a multitude of laws are being broken.
Many of these migrant encampments contained drug paraphernalia and evidence of large amounts of alcohol. There were leftover condoms leading one to wonder if prostitution has returned the fields of Vista.
In 2003 a Los Angeles TV News station conducted an undercover investigation and found prostitution taking place with very young girls being trafficked in for the illegal migrants. (See the video link is below)
“It is appalling to think about the prostitution and d …

San Diego Adult Entertainment: Haunted San Diego
October 28, 2009 at 2:13 pm | In San Diego adult entertainment | No CommentsThe Horton Grand Hotel is a product of the Brooklyn Hotel and the Grand Horton Hotel being forged together in 1980’s. The hotel was reopened in 1990 a few blocks west of the heart of the renovated Gaslamp (historical red-light) District, rebuilt on the same plot of land where Ida Bailey’s original 1880 – 1912 “cat house” once stood, during the wild booming days of San Diego’s rapid growth period. Roger Whitaker (a man whose death is up for speculation) haunts room 309 and the hallway where one finds the room. He appears in person, shakes the beds, opens the armoire’s doors, turns the lights on and off and moves objects. Sounds of someone playing cards can be heard when the room is locked and vacant. An indentation of a form can be seen on the bed, sometimes just after the maids make the bed. Madam Ida Bailey (who had a brothel on the site before the hotel was built) is said to welcome guests just as she did when she was alive. The hotel can be found at: 311 Island Avenue, San Diego, California 92101

Jim Ahern had a passion for preservation and San Diego’s history.
When he pledged to help clean up the Gaslamp Quarter more than 20 years ago, he tackled the mission earnestly. The seedy area of pawnshops, tattoo parlors and strip clubs gave way to trendy bistros, jazz bars and popular restaurants.
Mr. Ahern, who became a fixture in downtown San Diego, also helped establish the Chinese/Asian Thematic Historic District.
San Diego Adult Entertainment: Dealing a Major Blow to Mexico’s Masters of Meth
October 24, 2009 at 6:25 am | In San Diego adult entertainment | No CommentsLa Familia’s carnage is far worse in Mexico, where in recent years it has begun to terrorize Michoacán and neighboring states. It announced itself in 2006 when its hitmen rolled the severed heads of five rivals onto the dance floor of a Michoacán discotheque one night. More recently, in a taped conversation transcribed in Mexican law enforcement documents obtained by TIME, a La Familia boss called Mariano promises vengeance on federal police cracking down on the group’s operations. “Anyone who messes with [us] is going to die,” Mariano is quoted as saying. “I am not going to [prison].” Indeed, last summer, La Familia launched a wave of attacks on federal police bases, using grenades and other heavy weapons, killing 15 officers. A dozen corpses were dumped on a mountain highway.
And like other cartels, La Familia has broadly corrupted Mexican officialdom. The documents seen by TIME list a long La Familia payroll of public servants, including a mayor allegedly receiving $20,000 a month from the gang and a state police commander suspected of pocketing $35,000. Informants also describe how La Familia entertains those officials with raucous parties and truck loads of prostitutes.
