San Diego Adult Entertainment: King service has Jesus as its star

Ms. Dixon urged members of Lo-Salem, whose church is near an outdoor basketball facility, to go out and get to know the young people who shoot hoops during the warm months. They could take them bottled water, she said. They should stay and talk to the young people, she said. If church members are filled with Jesus Christ, she said, that essence ”will come out of your pores” to the young people, Ms. Dixon said.
”Dont expect sinners to knock down your [church] doors,” she said. ”Jesus said, Go and make disciples.
”Are we willing to step out of our pulpits and out of our pews and make a real and practical difference in the lives of the gang bangers across the street, the alcoholic next door, and the prostitute we drive by, in order to draw them to Christ, teach them how to use their skills to make legal money and show them how to be real fathers and real mothers to their children?”

San Diego Strip Clubs: ‘boom,’ ‘Glorious,’ ‘Hurlyburly’ plus more theater reviews, news

Phil also kidnaps his baby from his estranged wife, which oddly enough, provides the play’s only tender-hearted moment. As each man in turn holds the tiny infant, he reveals a genuinely soft-hearted side. But then, in a flash, one of them reminds them that this little thing will just grow up into another “broad.”
The females who swim around these bottom-dwellers have a few scruples and a bit of spine, but not much, and not enough to steer them clear of these creeps. Sara Beth Morgan plays a wide-eyed, delusional photographer; Morgan Trant doesn’t quite look like a teenager, but she has the right devil-may-care, feed-me-and-put-me-up-and-I’ll-sleep-with-you survival mentality. Karson St. John steals every scene she’s in. The recent Patté Award winner for one of the Outstanding Performances of 2009 (in “The Little Dog Laughed” at Diversionary) is just terrific as a drug-loving stripper who’s up for just about anything.

San Diego Escorts: POPE’S DOCTRINE: Attempting to cope with all the (tragic) ironies of defeat

I also bought myself an Xbox 360 and have been playing way too much “Madden NFL” ever since. Although, playing online and occasionally losing to 12-year-old kids in Florida is not good for my moderate rage issues. And as my sister pointed out, “it’s also not good for your ‘lack of friends or a girlfriend’ issues either.”
Also, the Green Bay Packers lost in the playoffs, once again, in a tragic fashion. I must be getting older and more mature because I actually handled it pretty well.
Right after the game ended, I got into my car and just drove aimlessly east on El Cajon Boulevard. Eventually, I saw a doughnut shop and polished off a half-dozen before I headed home. (Isn’t it great to have my metabolism?)
On the drive back, I inadvertently made eye contact with what I’m reasonably certain was a prostitute. Of course, I didn’t stop. But I definitely drove by a lot slower than I would have if the Packers had won. Thanks a lot, Mason Crosby.

San Diego Adult Entertainment: THEATER REVIEW: San Diego Rep’s ‘Boom’ is fun, imaginative

January 20, 2010 at 8:12 pm | In San Diego adult entertainment | No Comments

The dark and witty comedy takes all sorts of surprise twists in a bright and zippy new production directed by Sam Woodhouse at San Diego Repertory Theatre. Woodhouse says “Boom” is the most-produced contemporary play in America today, and it’s easy to see why. Besides its low production costs (three actors, one set and few costumes), the script is quirky, fun and smart. Just when you think you’ve got this fishy tale figured out, Nachtrieb throws a new red herring in your path, right up until the closing seconds.
The play’s set-up seems simple at first.
Jules (played with an exuberant goofiness by Steven Lone) is the only survivor of an unfortunate family done in by earthquakes, hurricanes and hyenas, and he’s determined to stay that way. Based on his oceanographic studies, Jules believes that fish sense their impending doom — an approaching comet, which will annihilate all life on earth — so he’s outfitted a bomb shelter with two years’ worth of supplies and he posts an online ad soliciting sex. Responding to the ad is Jo, a foul-mouthed, aggressive journalism student who wants to write about their anonymous, one-night stand in her journal.

San Diego Strip Clubs: Polyamory, Honesty and Pie

January 20, 2010 at 4:12 pm | In San Diego strip clubs | No Comments

I was excited to have the opportunity to interview Sherry, Greg and Bill because they didn’t fit into the clichéd situation of two women and one man. I’m tired of it always being men who claim to want to watch two women getting it on: Strip club dancers, of course, already know this is the way to get the big tips.  Last week, The Daily Show–the one TV show I revere–did a spoof on the sanctity of marriage in the guise of reporting on Proposition 8, and the punchline was a married couple in which the husband had a girlfriend. But that just seems so Tiger Woods/David Letterman/Bill Clinton. Why can’t the celebs give us a little more variety? (Seriously, in this day and age, it’s front page news that someone’s having an affair?) Anyway, that’s why I decided to seek out a less tired version of a relationship involving a third person.

San Diego Adult Entertainment: Some Focus on the Modern Slave Trade During MLK Day

January 19, 2010 at 2:12 am | In San Diego adult entertainment | No Comments

Almost 47 years have passed since Martin Luther King, Jr. made his famous “I have a dream” speech. The United states and the world have made major strides since that time, but human trafficking still has millions enslaved today.
Chair of the Flathead Valley Martin Luther King Day Community Celebration Reverend Darryl Kistler says, “27 million is almost a number that is beyond anything we can think about. That would be taking every person in Montana and multiplying us by 27 and that’s how many people are involved or enslaved by human trafficking.”
According to the U.S. State Department, trafficking exists in every single U.S. state and around the globe. Between 14,500 and 17,500 people are brought to the U.S. every single year under false pretences. Many are forced into prostitution, manual labor, and other services.

ESCONDIDO – Escondido police arrested a would-be robber who tried to hold up a suspected a “john” during an anti-prostitution sting operation Saturday night, it was reported Sunday.
The 32-year-old would-be robber, whose name was withheld, was booked on suspicion of attempted robbery, and the woman was arrested on suspicion of prostitution, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune.
Three other women and a 17-year-old girl were also arrested on prostitution charges, Escondido police Lt. Craig Carter told the newspaper. The women solicited sex acts from undercover detectives posing as “johns,” he said.
While the detectives were watching a suspected prostitute, they saw the woman and a “john” make an apparent deal. As the two drove away, a pickup truck driver pulled in front of the car, blocked it, got out and tried to rob the “john,” police said.
