San Diego Adult Entertainment: LAWS ARE NOT MADE TO PICK AND CHOOSE

May 11, 2010 at 9:13 pm | In San Diego adult entertainment | No Comments

The issue of Illegal Immigration is no different in terms of law. These laws
are on the books to maintain civility, safety and order in our nation and have
to be treated as instruments of maintaining peace, harmony and civility to
our society.
The issue of Illegal Immigration is no different.  Those who enter our country
illegally should have to pay the price for breaking the law.
As a person who has had the privilege of living in Southern California during
the late 60’s and 70’s, I can say without any reservations that many communities
there have taken a nosedive in status since then, and have been transformed from
desirable beautiful communities where one would be proud to live to cities
where drugs are ramped, gang violence is an overgrowing presence,
prostitution is part of the daily scene and neglect of overall appearance is
now accepted as common normalcy.

San Diego Strip Clubs: The Travels of a Journalist—27 (Part A), A PEEK INTO MEXICO: THROUGH BAJA …

Next, we went on an exploratory tour of the renowned Avenida Revolucion, a must to claim that one really visited Tijuana. This long north-south avenue, the gateway to Zona Norte from Zona Centro, is the tourist center of the city, where the Caesar’s Salad had its origin. It is home to several distinct attractions, from cantinas and table dance bars to numerous dance clubs and art galleries. At the night market, I bought a leather belt for $4.50. Yoke-Sim bought a leather purse for $8.50. Currently, the famous avenue is going through a major crisis with more than 80 percent of the businesses closed.
Northwest of the Avenida Revolución is the Zona Norte, the city’s red light district (referred to as La Coahuila after one of the main streets in it). It “boasts a large number of legal street prostitutes as well as, in parts, a selection of strip clubs offering at least one establishment per block” (Wikipedia).

San Diego Escorts: Gulf oil spill hearing – live blog

May 11, 2010 at 5:25 pm | In San Diego escorts | No Comments

2.45pm: The committee’s senators are making their opening statements, and all ready there’s a much tougher tone to their remarks.
Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey has a nice line: “What this spill shows us is that offshore drilling can not be conducted safely… Drilling is a 19th century solution to a 21st century problem.”
2.55pmpm: And then again there’s a different view from senator David Vitter of Louisiana, a Republican who knows all about being covered in filth. (That’s a reference to the DC Madam prostitute scandal, when Vitter was found to involved.) Anyway, Vitter thinks that the matter is so serious that these hearings shouldn’t even be held. “I think that having hearings while the disaster is ongoing is a mistake,” says Vitter, because the hearing is “pulling some amount of resources and focus away from that ongoing disaster”.

San Diego Escorts: City Heights Residents Take Back Community

May 11, 2010 at 3:00 am | In San Diego escorts | No Comments

Greg Dietrich and his wife transformed a City Heights home into a neighborhood oasis of sorts. Since then, Dietrich has rallied his neighbors to do the same.
“You don’t need to be rich. If you have a vision and compassion, you can create anything you want,” said Dietrich.
Twice a year, residents and volunteers from outside the community help spruce up houses as part of Project FaceLift. This summer, the number of homes improved will surpass 500.
“You leave that community changed forever,” said one volunteer.
“I take a lot of pride,” said resident Maria Cortez.
Cortez didn’t let city budget cuts stop her. She and her neighbors found grants that paid for 20 new streetlights in their area.
“We’ve seen a decrease in gangs, prostitution and drug use,” said Cortez.

San Diego Adult Entertainment: Plant-removal project worries residents

May 8, 2010 at 4:25 am | In San Diego adult entertainment | No Comments

Friends and supporters of the canyon are concerned about the city’s brush-management plan that calls for thinning vegetation in the canyon.
The city’s thinning project, expected to start this month, threatens to decimate the canyon’s southern maritime chaparral, a dominant native plant community that is rare and home to many species, d’Elgin said. It also clears the way for fast-growing weeds to take over the area, spreading from the slope at the top edge of the canyon where the chaparral would be thinned to the area her group has restored along the canyon’s main path, she said.
As part of the 32nd Street Canyon Task Force, d’Elgin and other volunteers are urging residents to oppose the brush-management project, saying it will reverse the work that turned an enclave for dumping, drugs, homelessness and prostitution into a safe, attractive community asset that also serves as an outdoor classroom for student groups.

San Diego Adult Entertainment: Napolitano: Border could be ‘more safe’

May 5, 2010 at 5:13 pm | In San Diego adult entertainment | No Comments

An official with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services said “it’s too early” to say whether any signs were missed in Shahzad’s naturalization process. But the official acknowledged that any screening is just “a snapshot in time” and can’t catch everything.
“This is just one of those realities that we face,” the official said.
While the citizenship process is rigorous and takes about four months, there are areas it can miss.
Take foreign travel.
The main citizenship form asks applicants for a five-year history of their travel outside the United States. It also asks a series of questions about the applicant’s criminal and personal background, including whether they have ever been a member of a terror group; ever advocated for the overthrow of any government by force; ever been a part of the Nazi government; ever been a prostitute; ever been “a habitual drunkard”; ever been a polygamist; ever committed a crime but not arrested; or ever lied to get into the United States.

San Diego Strip Clubs: Man Sentenced For Balboa Park Rape

May 5, 2010 at 4:13 am | In San Diego strip clubs | No Comments

According to one witness, Huggins looked like he was “hunting” just before the attack, the prosecutor said.
Another park worker witnessed the victim emerging from the crime scene with her clothes disheveled and said he had never seen anything like it in 10 years, McClutchey said.
The prosecutor said Huggins followed the victim, knocked her down and choked her, cutting off her air supply.
Huggins became frustrated with the victim’s attempt to fight him off, moved her to a different area and sexually assaulted her in a violent way, the prosecutor said.
“His goals were clear,” McClutchey said. “His conduct was horrific.”
A year after the attack, Huggins struck a bouncer at a strip club with a beer bottle and was arrested. Authorities used DNA taken from Huggins and matched it to DNA taken from the victim in the Balboa Park attack, McClutchey said.
