San Diego Adult Entertainment: Report Finds Violations Widespread In San Diego City Schools

Stubblefield says charging public school students for certain programs is a violation of state education law. She says the practice denies students from low-income families the right to take part.
“Parents need to start questioning the schools. They need to know where that money is going and why they are paying for certain things.”
It was just last week when the grand jury applauded San Diego Unified for having a fraud hotline.
Stubblefield says that system has actually helped uncover some of these violations.
For example, employees were caught embezzling tens of thousands of dollars and falsifying payroll records. In one case, one or more school workers were targeted for soliciting young prostitutes.

But I do recall laughing with my parents during road trips as we listened to his long-running radio show where he sought kids’ perspectives on everyday topics. His book “Kids Say the Darndest Things” eventually became a nonfiction best-seller and still ranks as the 14th most popular nonfiction book published in the United States.
In fact, Linkletter’s reputation as a popular celebrity with kids netted him an invite to help Walt Disney open Disneyland (on Linkletter’s birthday!) July 17, 1955, along with Fess Parker, Bob Cummings, Ronald Reagan and the Mouseketeers
“When getting the best answers while interviewing kids, I always found talking to children between the ages of 5 and 8 was best,” Linkletter told during one of our interviews.
“One of my favorite question and answers was when I asked a 7-year-old what religion he was. His response to me was: ‘I can’t remember, but I know I’m either Catholic or prostitute.’ “

Who is UndercoverGover?
Alas, the world may never know now that he or she has signed off for the last time.
The anonymous blogger and tweeter has spent the past couple months poking fun at San Diego politicians and prodding local journalists from somewhere inside City Hall. At least, that’s our assumption, based on what little personal information was revealed.
It began with some critical comments on the @UndercoverGover Twitter account, such as “Pols are more flexible and change positions more than strippers” and “Schoolbrary: The Jerry Sanders Center for Children who don’t read good.” (That last one is a reference to ‘Zoolander,’ if you don’t catch the reference.)
UndercoverGover then launched a blog where he/she could crack on folks at greater length. Some of those receiving barbs included City Councilwoman Marti Emerald (the picture on UndercoverGover’s Twitter account is a photo of Emerald doctored up to make her look like a Wild West bandit), Union-Tribune editor Jeff Light, City Council candidate Lorie Zapf and local blogger Pat Flannery. UndercoverGover even dubbed this reporter “Ochogustafo.”

A man was convicted Tuesday of murdering the mother of his children hours after getting out of jail.
On Tuesday, a jury returned a verdict of second-degree murder for Melvin Lee Carter, who strangled 31-year-old Christina Michelle Jones on Dec. 17, 2009.
The killing ended a long history of domestic violence between the couple, who, prosecutors said, met five years ago when Jones was dancing at a local strip club. That history began to be documented by local law enforcement in November 2007, when Carter punched Jones in the face, an act he later admitted and was sentenced to probation for. Carter was arrested roughly two years after that incident when Jones reported he had struck her again.

During the attack, Carter began shaking and crying, grabbed the knife and the frying pan and said, “I don’t know what I’ve done. I’ve lost it,” Kirkwood told the jury.
Carter’s children — including his 5-month-old daughter — were sleeping and did not witness the ordeal, according to Kirkwood.
But Pirrello said the children were in the room when their father first arrived and witnessed Carter swing the knife and frying pan at Bradford.
The defendant was in the military when he met Jones, who was a stripper at a local club, Kirkwood said. Carter begged her to stop dancing and she told him she would, which became a point of contention, according to the defense attorney.
