San Diego Escorts: The haunted and the vaunted

Besides shows mentioned earlier, I also admired Intrepid’s “King John,” North Coast Rep’s “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” (a plum of a local premiere), Cygnet’s hugely ambitious “The Norman Conquests” as well its “Private Lives,” the Playhouse’s sumptuous “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” and the Globe’s bracing take on Neil Simon’s “Lost in Yonkers” (along with the theater’s very strong Shakespeare Festival).
And one out-of-town pick: The band Green Day’s Broadway opus “American Idiot,” a gritty tone poem scribbled in power chords and raw poignancy. Now there’s a show that took 2010 from a whisper to a scream.
“Ruined,” La Jolla Playhouse: I thought I was prepared for the blistering impact of Nottage’s play, having seen the 2009 off-Broadway staging (and having read the script while serving as a Pulitzer juror). Yet Liesl Tommy’s direction drew fresh sparks from the friction of hope and despair in Nottage’s story of women who’ve found dubious refuge from war in a makeshift bar and brothel.

San Diego Escorts: Hefner & Harris And The 60-Year Divide

December 29, 2010 at 1:48 am | In San Diego escorts | No Comments

… I don’t have women in their 20s (as clients) who want to date men in their 80s. I wouldn’t take (a man in his 80s looking for 20-somethings) as a client. It’s not the norm. But is it possible? Absolutely, it’s okay.”
Purdum then cracked, “A lot of older men will be invigorated.”
The line that “age is just a number” has been around a while, though maybe not as long as Hefner. A five-year gap between partners probably wouldn’t even be on the radar in most relationships; a 10-year difference likely wouldn’t make tons of folks look sideways. Sixty? That is a whole different neighborhood.
“Kind of creepy,” said Jimmy Pettit, a 46-year-old San Diego resident. “It’s all ego-based on his part, on their part. It’s borderline prostitution of themselves. You have to question their motives. Clearly, they’re not in it for a life-long marriage.

PHOENIX (AP) – A man started shooting inside a strip club, killing two people and wounding two others, including a topless dancer, before patrons wrestled the gunman to the floor, police said Monday.
Gavin MacFarlane, 28, of Scottsdale, opened fire at the Great Alaskan Bush Company shortly before midnight Sunday before he ran out of ammunition and was tackled, police said.
Police Sgt. Trent Crump said MacFarlane told detectives that he had a “personal agenda” but didn’t immediately provide further details about his motive.
Troy Cooley, 34, a security guard at the west Phoenix club, was shot and killed. A club patron, Antonio Garcia, 20, also died. A 22-year-old man and the 20-year-old dancer were wounded.

This was the second fatal shooting at a Phoenix strip club over the Christmas weekend.

San Diego Escorts: SATAN’S PLAYGROUND CHRONICLES TIJUANA’S ALLURE TO THE RICH, FAMOUS & INFAMOUS …

December 23, 2010 (San Diego)–Paul J. Underwood’s Satan’s Playground chronicles the rise and fall of the tumultuous, lucrative gambling industry that developed just south of  San Diego’s border with Mexico in the early 20th century. As prohibitions against liquor, horse racing, gambling, and prostitution swept the United States, the vice industries flourished in and around Tijuana to the extent that reformers came to call the town “Satan’s Playground”– unintentionally increasing its licentious allure to Hollywood stars and other celebrities of the era.

After such accusatory finger-pointing by the publisher himself, the first piece in the long series began, “If you were searching for the filthiest cesspool that ever defiled the face of the earth, you would [travel to Tijuana]. The miasma of the cesspool arises like a withering blight and assails your nostrils with its deadly stench.” And worse, “Tijuana, with its cutthroat Mexicans, its smug American gamblers, and its thieves and prostitutes of all nations, snuggles complacently …[near San Diego].” Mind you, this is Vanderwood’s characterization and perception by the publisher in the 1920s.

The announcement of the “Dead Masquerade” tour followed the news that the group pulled out of a European trek with BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE that was supposed to begin last month so that bassist Max Green could enter rehab for drug and alcohol addiction.
ESCAPE THE FATE’s self-titled album sold 18,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 25 on The Billboard 200 chart. The video for the CD’s first single, “Issues”, was directed by Paul R. Brown, who has previously worked with STONE SOUR, SLIPKNOT, MÖTLEY CRÜE, KORN, GODSMACK and AVENGED SEVENFOLD.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – The serial killer who police say sexually assaulted and strangled three women, and possibly attacked three others, in a city neighborhood rife with drugs and prostitution might want to hope that authorities find him before the neighbors do.

Once a middle-class neighborhood of rowhomes a few miles northeast of downtown, Kensington has become a high-crime area with a culture of open-air drugs and prostitution. But it also boasts a nascent gentrification effort as young homeowners and artists move in, attracted by the affordable prices.

And yet even with the murders, police said drug sales and prostitution continue unabated.

Authorities have arrested 120 people involved in prostitution in Kensington since Nov. 19 and obtained DNA swabs from many of them, Blackburn said. More than 40 have been cleared, and tests are pending on the rest.

San Diego Strip Clubs: People’s Choice Nominee Tina Fey Didn’t Study for ‘Date Night’ Strip Scene

December 20, 2010 at 7:12 am | In San Diego strip clubs | No Comments

We had a chance to talk to Tina last spring about her transition from unknown TV writer to big screen star. The best part? She was more than willing to talk about her stripper routine from Date Night.
“The first take Steve picked me up and I just neglected to hold the pole,” she said. “I was supposed to be going around the pole, and I remember the director going, ‘Hold the pole.’ But it was a sequence that I was kind of nervous going into, like oh boy what is this going to be?
“Then I kind of knew that I could count on Steve to deliver throughout it, which he did. One of my favorite things in the movie is Steve licking the pole and getting nauseous. I would like to say that we went to a bunch of strip clubs and really studied and stuff, but we didn’t.”

California’s chapter of the National Organization for Women is going after Hooters restaurants.
There are 24 of the restaurants in California, each staffed by “Hooters Girls” who wear tank tops and hot pants. The Atlanta-based company says the servers exude “natural female sex appeal.” The company also notes, “Ten percent of the parties we serve have children in them.”
You can’t have it both ways, California NOW president Patricia Bellasalma says.
She noted that in California, state law and many city ordinances forbid strip clubs, X-rated video parlors and similar establishments from admitting kids.

San Diego Adult Entertainment: Market Your Business Using Current Events

December 17, 2010 at 3:13 pm | In San Diego adult entertainment | No Comments

2.  In January 2010, Déjà Vu, now Expose, poked fun at the Tiger Woods incident and flew an airplane over the Torrey Pines golf course trailing a banner that read: “We miss you Tiger!  Deja Vu Showgirls.” Yes, this might have been a bit tacky and tasteless, but we’re talking about an adult entertainment nightclub here.  This was just the beginning of marketers capitalizing on the sex scandal and to be frank, it was a brilliant move. People discussed the stunt for days and it was not only picked up by local TV stations and newspapers, but by publications across the country, including The Huffington Post, The San Diego Union Tribune, Examiner, NBC San Diego, NBC Chicago, AOL, Sports Illustrated, NBC Sports, The San Francisco Chronicle, Golf.com, Golfweek, and was mentioned across social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. Not only did the company find a clever way to raise awareness in a comical way, but think about the potential new customers they attracted.
