San Diego Strip Clubs: San Diego Michael Jackson impersonator bares it all
May 16, 2012 at 8:12 pm | In San Diego strip clubs | No CommentsWhen people show up to Gregory’s upcoming, self-produced show, WoMan in the Mirror, A Dancer’s Journey, they’ll get the Jackson they want. She’ll kick things off by doing the high-energy performance that’s earned her national attention. But stick around for the second act and you might be surprised. Gregory, a native San Diegan who’s left the city on wild adventures many times only to find herself back again, leads an odd and interesting life. She wants to tell an audience all about it in a 90-minute show that combines dance performances with acting, audience participation and jarringly honest storytelling that’ll illustrate her life as a dancer, a woman, a practicing Wiccan and, of course, MJ.
She’ll appear as a ballerina, a burlesque dancer, a stripper, a kids performer in a corny SeaWorld show, a backup dancer in a drag show, a solo drag-queen star at Lips San Diego restaurant. And, yes, everything in WoMan in the Mirror is something Gregory culled from her spontaneous real life.

San Diego Strip Clubs: Strip Club Has Alcohol License Revoked
May 4, 2012 at 8:12 pm | In San Diego strip clubs | No CommentsSAN DIEGO (CNS) – A Kearny Mesa strip club has had its alcohol-beverage license suspended for at least a year for violations including the sale and possession of illegal drugs and lewd conduct by dancers, it was reported Thursday.
The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control suspended Pure Platinum’s license on Wednesday, according to U-T San Diego. Details about the violations will be released later today, department spokesman John Carr told the newspaper.
The affected club sits on Kearny Mesa Road. In June 2011, the same state department suspended the license to serve alcohol at the Pure Platinum strip club on Pacific Highway at Laurel Street, near Lindbergh Field.
A state accusation against the airport-area business listed 34 violations, including lewd conduct by dancers and accusations that on-duty employees sold or negotiated the sale of cocaine to undercover officers, U-T San Diego reported.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – State regulators suspended alcohol sales at a Kearny Mesa nude-entertainment club for 30 days starting Thursday due to alleged violations, including on-site drug-dealing and lewd conduct by dancers.
The disciplinary actions against Pure Platinum in the 4000 block of Kearny Mesa Road stemmed from a three-week undercover operation in January 2009, according to the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
The business has been fighting the suspension order for the last three years, taking its appeal all the way to the state Supreme Court, which denied it late last month, ABC spokeswoman Jennifer Hill said.
During the investigation, plainclothes agents posing as patrons observed at least three nude dancers engaging in prohibited behavior, including touching of customers and simulated sex acts, according to Hill.

San Diego Strip Clubs: PitchFX Breakdown: Ian Kennedy vs. San Diego & Ian Kennedy vs. Miami
May 1, 2012 at 8:12 pm | In San Diego strip clubs | No CommentsThe first and most obvious question is, simply, is the perception that Kennedy’s command was off on Saturday founded legitimate? A quick look at Brooks’ strikezone plots reveals the details:
April 12 vs. San Diego:
April 28 vs. Miami:
Clearly, yes, Kennedy has issues locating in the lower part of the strike zone. Unless he’s been taking effective velocity lessons from Trevor Bauer – and I certainly hope not, given his career average fastball velocity of 89.7 mph, per FanGraphs – Ian was clearly missing his spots on Saturday, and may have been fortunate to allow just one run in that outing. It isn’t even fair to say that he was pitching to the ballpark, as Petco may be the only park more pitcher-friendly than the new Miami Carnival/Gentleman’s Club. There’s clearly something to observe here.

San Diego Strip Clubs: MAPPING A REGION’S GENOMES AS BUSINESS GOES GLOBAL
April 15, 2012 at 12:12 pm | In San Diego strip clubs | No CommentsThe problem with Chicago’s “genome” is that corporations there lack the culture of the modern knowledge-based company, which in our digital world might lack not only a loading dock but everything else, too. What used to be housed in the same office building is now distributed worldwide. The R&D might be in Sorrento Valley, manufacturing in Asia, while the original intellectual capital, that “Aha Moment,” could have sprung from the cerebrum of a scientist back in St. Louis, with the marketing to be done in Manhattan.
This is, not coincidentally, the case with Somark, a San Diego startup funded by Horowitt’s T2, which manufactures a chip-less, ink-based RFID marker in a valiant effort to keep track of the world’s lab mice, of which there are a lot. Really a lot.
“In today’s global economy,” the 53-year-old Horowitt says over a lean steak at the La Jolla Strip Club, “it’s the ability to access nonproximate resources, talent, information, capital that is actually driving innovation.” Regional clustering — the model of how to foster innovation held by most civic leaders and university deans — is no longer enough, he says.
San Diego Strip Clubs: Behind The Scenes of ‘Deconstruction Of A Drag Queen’
April 13, 2012 at 8:12 pm | In San Diego strip clubs | No CommentsIn the play Michael (played by Tuazon) tells his mother: “What if I want to dance and be on stage and I like fashion and clothes and I’m good at school? What can’t I be all that?”
But he answer is a definitive, “No.” That is not what she has in mind for her son. Harroff then has Michael’s mom lock him up in a gold cage to keep him from any distractions.
In real life, Diaz would find a new and more supportive family within the drag community and the play pays tribute to those flamboyant divas. But the drag community has been appreciative of how the play finds the humanity beneath the glitter. Harroff spoke about drag with Fernando Lara whose performs as Fifi at Lips.
“He said a lot of times, most times , drag queens are seen as clowns or strippers and that the art of it is really lost on a lot of people.”

San Diego Strip Clubs: San Diego Attorney Chuck LiMandri Launches Alumni for a Catholic USD Website
April 11, 2012 at 8:12 pm | In San Diego strip clubs | No CommentsAlumniForACatholicUSD.org was launched this past weekend by Attorney Chuck LiMandri in an effort to protest and raise awareness of the University of San Diego’s plan to hold its first on-campus Drag Show this Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Local San Diego Drag Queen Tootie Nefertootie is scheduled to emcee the lip-sync competition, runway competition and Q&A session. While the University claims the event is in line with Catholic “social justice” teaching, past drag show events at other supposedly “Catholic” universities have displayed degenerate behavior that clearly does not align with Catholic values. Information regarding the event and Catholic teaching can be found at http://www.alumniforacatholicusd.org.
“USD shouldn’t be expected to host or allow anti-Catholic events on a Catholic campus,” said Mr. LiMandri, USD Alumni, Class of ’77. “The bottom line is that the law does not require USD to allow this event; the teachings on Catholic social justice do not align with this event, and anyone with a formed Christian conscience cannot approve an event that is sexually perverse – whether it included heterosexual, transgender or homosexual individuals. We would be taking a similar stand if the university sponsored a show featuring female pole dancers or strippers.”
