San Diego Strip Clubs: Judge Axes Donation Cap to San Diego Politicians
January 23, 2012 at 10:12 pm | In San Diego strip clubs | No Comments… Former Republican city council candidate Phil Thalheimer, the Republican Party of San Diego and business political action committee The Lincoln Club of San Diego brought their legal challenge to the city’s campaign finance laws in December 2009. The lawsuit claimed that certain provisions of the law intended to curb corruption violated their rights to free speech.
Gonzalez’s ruling does not glaze over San Diego’s sordid political history. “In this case, the record sufficiently demonstrates corruption in the San Diego municipal government,” she wrote, citing the yellow cab scandal in which the city raised taxi rates for campaign contributions.
”Then, in 1985, San Diego Mayor Roger Hedgecock resigned after being convicted of concealing illegal campaign contributions,” Gonzalez continued. “In 2001, City Council member Valerie Stallings resigned after pleading guilty to corruption charge. Most recently, three City Council members were indicted on fraud and conspiracy counts involving channeling campaign contributions from the adult entertainment industry in exchange for an agreement to repeal the no-touch laws in strip clubs.”
San Diego Strip Clubs: Inzuna told to report to prison by Jan. 30 Inzunza to prison jan. 30
January 22, 2012 at 7:12 pm | In San Diego strip clubs | No CommentsOnce a rising star in local Democratic politics, Inzunza said nothing during the hearing, sitting with his hands folded in front of him at a table in the courtroom. More than a dozen supporters filled the seats behind him.
Inzunza waved off a reporter afterward and quickly walked by news cameras staked out on the plaza in front of the downtown federal courthouse into a car waiting on Front Street.
The muted hearing in front of Miller capped one of the city’s most infamous political corruption cases. Inzunza was charged along with then-Councilmen Michael Zucchet and Charles Lewis, strip-club owner Michael Galardi and Las Vegas strip-club lobbyist Lance Malone.
Inzunza was convicted in July 2005 of extortion, honest services wire fraud and conspiracy for trading political favors for campaign contributions from Galardi, then-owner of the Cheetah’s strip club in San Diego and several clubs in Las Vegas.

As far as visual spectacles go, the Adult Entertainment Expo is in a league of its own. It’s an X-rated world of boobs and butts, skimpy dresses and high heels, where very little, if anything, is left to the imagination.
So how does a photographer for a family-oriented newspaper like the Las Vegas Sun tell a visual story about the largest adult entertainment expo in the world that’s actually fit to print?
…
And as far as images that are different: “You see lots of women on stripper poles, but you don’t see a lot who are wearing a sombrero and braces.” (Yes, she snapped a photo.)

San Diego Strip Clubs: The World’s Most Expensive Car Hauler
January 16, 2012 at 1:12 am | In San Diego strip clubs | No CommentsThis is CVN-76, a.k.a. the Ronald Reagan. It is a true multi-role ship. Today, it hauls cars, to keep them off I-5.
The ship costs new anywhere between $4.3 billion and $6 billion (accounts differ, assume the $4.3 b are for the stripper version). Total cost of ownership is $32 billion over the carrier’s assumed service life of 50 years, or $1.75 million for the day.
The crew sets you back another $1.40 million a day, for a total daily rate of $3.15 million.
The ship traveled from its home port in San Diego up the West Coast, to 120 Dewey Street, Bremerton, WA 98314-6012, better known as the Kitsap-Bremerton Naval Base. The Ronnie will stay there for a one year maintenance and upgrade (or make that “scheduled dock-planned incremental availability maintenance”) at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility. The crew is coming along.
