No team has yet to sign him as a free agent, and the polarizing receiver worries they’re swayed by the perception he’s a troublemaker. A perception he believes he disproved with his agreeable behaviour in Buffalo during a disappointing season last year.
PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that the Steelers have given coach Mike Tomlin a three-year contract extension.
The newspaper says Steelers president Art Rooney negotiated the deal. Terms were not available.
NEW CITY, N.Y. – Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to an indictment that alleges he had sex with a 16-year-old girl in a New York hotel room.
The former NFL star allegedly paid US$300 to the girl, a Bronx runaway, for their encounter in May. Taylor pleaded not guilty through his lawyer to third-degree rape, patronizing a prostitute, sexual abuse and endangering a child.

San Diego Adult Entertainment: San Diego cop, murder-scene artist, grand jury foreman: This resume is one of …

… In the 1950s, it was very small-town, very much a good-old-boy syndrome,” he said. “Now it’s a big city, which has benefits. It’s more modern, but it’s also brought problems.”
He’s researching the varied career of Agoston Haraszthy, the Hungarian emigre who became the county’s first marshal in 1850, grew grapes in Mission Valley, built his own jail and entered deals with the Bandini family, Mexican landowners who had lived in San Diego for generations. Haraszthy later led a failed attempt to split California into two states — a true San Diegan, suspicious of the outside world.
In the early 1900s, San Diego was wide open with vice, corruption, murder and an occasional morality campaign. Some 136 prostitutes were rounded up and sent to Los Angeles on the civic theory that their trade would be welcomed in that sinful place.

San Diego Escorts: There Go the Lovers

The next morning, when Josefa reached the garden gate at Casa de Carrillo, legend says she crawled on her knees and begged her father’s forgiveness. She fled, she told Joaquín, to “escape the tyranny” of Echeandia. After much wavering (some accounts even have him pointing the musket at her), Don Joaquín relented. In her Testimonio, written decades later, Josefa remembers her father saying, “I forgive thee, daughter, for it is not thy fault that our governors are despots!”
Only the most glowing accounts mention Don Joaquín forgiving Fitch, and none have Fitch forgiving his father-in-law. Don Joaquín “abused her most shamefully,” Fitch wrote years later, “frequently threatening to flog her and telling her I was a heretic and that she was living with me as a common prostitute.” Fitch said he hoped Don Joaquín would “go to hell.”

San Diego Adult Entertainment: Study: Most arrested juveniles have drugs in system

July 21, 2010 at 7:13 pm | In San Diego adult entertainment | No Comments

Also troubling was the high amount of youth — 47 percent — reporting alcohol or drug abuse by their parents. Additionally, half reported a parent had been previously arrested and jailed.
“It is clear that in many households, a cycle of substance abuse exists that needs to be addressed before additional generations are also affected,” the study concludes.
Other findings include:
• 32 percent reported having abused prescription or over-the-counter medication, such as Vicodin, OxyContin or codeine.
• One in three youth said they had received some type of previous treatment for drug use, with the majority being court-ordered programs rather than voluntary.
• 88 percent said they’d used alcohol or marijuana by the age of 13.
• A quarter of girls interviewed reported being approached about prostitution. Three boys and three girls said they’d engaged in prostitution before.

San Diego Escorts: Gearing Up For San Diego Comic Con

July 21, 2010 at 12:48 pm | In San Diego escorts | No Comments

I spent Tuesday afternoon meandering around the area and went into Nordstoms for the first time.   They have the nicest sales people and many were romance readers (always nice to hear).   I also met Bella there who just got the most amazing shoes.  The funny part was that her sister’s tennies had no laces.  Poor thing.
While I was checking out the construction of the Carpe Diem restaurant (from the SyFy show Eureka), I stumbled across Georges on Fifth.  This steak house building was formerly owned by Wyatt Earp in the 1880’s here he ran a saloon and gambling hall called “The Oyster Bar.”  Their brochure explains:  This was one of the better known and frequented saloons in the city.  One of the reasons for its popularity was that upstairs was a brothel called the Golden Poppy.   The uniquie feature was that each room was painted a different color and each lady wore a dress the same color as her room. They even offer tours there.

San Diego Strip Clubs: The Traveler’s Guide To San Diego Comic-Con

July 21, 2010 at 4:12 am | In San Diego strip clubs | No Comments

Vitamins & Protection: The Comic-Con diet may wreak havoc on your eating patterns, so supplement with vitamins, especially since you’re going to be around tens of thousand of people handling money and merchandise. Keep some Purell around and wash those hands or you’ll come back from the Con with the Nerd Flu. Also, bring some sunblock and shades. Even though the Con’s mostly indoors, you may find yourself waiting in line outside for extended periods, especially if you’re plan on attending anything in Hall H or the big ballrooms on the convention center’s upper levels.
Eat, Drink, Sleep, Go
Eat: Avoid convention food and watch out for the crowds in the Gaslamp Quarter, which is lined with pubs, delis and sit down restaurants. The Tin Fish offers seafood nearby the convention center, but is unsurprisingly crowded. Others swear by the Gaslamp Strip Club and Donovan’s of Downtown for steak. Kotaku commenters say “Find a ‘bertos” (Robertos, Albertos, Jobertos, Filibertos, etc.) for authentic Mex …

San Diego Escorts: Tijuana Was Once “Satan’s Playground”

July 20, 2010 at 10:24 pm | In San Diego escorts | No Comments

… Satan’s Playground,” a new book by SDSU Professor Emeritus Paul Vanderwood, chronicles the rise and fall of the gambling industry that developed in and around Tijuana, particularly the Agua Caliente Resort and Casino, as prohibitions against alcohol, horse racing, gambling, and prostitution swept the United States.
MAUREEN CAVANAUGH (Host): I’m Maureen Cavanaugh. You’re listening to These Days on KPBS. The level of violence in Mexico over the trafficking of illegal drugs has exploded in the last few years. Fighting between drug cartels and between the cartels and Mexican authorities has resulted in thousands of deaths. It’s a situation that remains extremely dangerous. Given that background, it’s almost romantically nostalgic to remember an earlier time when Tijuana was thought of as an exciting escape for Californians. The 1920s was the era of prohibition in the United States, when it seemed everything was illegal up north and nothing was off limits across the border. During the 20’s and ’30s, Baja, California was the home to a famous resort for partygoers, celebr …

San Diego Adult Entertainment: Supes approve medical marijuana zoning, ordinance

July 15, 2010 at 10:37 pm | In San Diego adult entertainment | No Comments

In 2001 DPLU granted an administrative permit for a topless dancing facility in unincorporated El Cajon across from a shopping center which included a childrens dance studio, an arcade, and a pizza parlor. In response to that situation, in 2002 the county supervisors amended the Zoning Ordinance to remove commercial zoning areas as potential sites for adult entertainment businesses and limit adult establishments not

The zoning for medical marijuana dispensary facilities limits such dispensaries to the same M50, M52, M54, and M58 land as adult entertainment facilities while imposing separation requirements of 1,000 feet from each other, a church, school, public park, or residential area.

The countys Planning Commission recommended distances equal to those stipulated in the adult entertainment ordinance, although the county supervisors reinstated the 1,000-foot separations proposed by DPLU staff.
