The Duke of Ephesus (Alister Cameron) has a Gallic flavour, wearing a De Gaulle kepi, so we are probably in one of those French colonies in the Maghreb. All very Casablanca.
There is a small on-stage band, and at points the whole company joins in the singing.
In this Ephesus, it is only natural to find Shakespeare’s Courtesan (who is having a fling with one Antipholus) portrayed as a sultry jazz crooner (Anna-Jane Casey duly does the honours).
